1. Agreement and business identity
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form an agreement between you and Switch Customs, a Pennsylvania sole proprietorship based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA (“Switch Customs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply when you visit switchkbd.com, submit a build or service request, purchase a ready-to-ship product, approve a custom quote, use RGB Studio or AI Help, or otherwise use our services.
By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked here. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve the transaction.
Our Shipping Policy, Return, Refund & Warranty Policy, and Privacy Policy are incorporated into these Terms.
2. Products, modifications, and descriptions
Switch Customs sells independently modified mechanical keyboards and offers custom keyboard, custom PC, assembly, tuning, upgrade, and related build services. We aim to describe each product accurately. Product photos may appear different across screens, and hand-applied tuning or modifications may create minor cosmetic or sound variation that does not affect function.
Some builds begin with third-party keyboards, kits, switches, keycaps, or other components. The original manufacturers own their brands and trademarks. Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, Switch Customs is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by those manufacturers. Opening or modifying a third-party product may affect the manufacturer’s warranty.
For a customer-supplied service order, you confirm that you own the submitted item or are authorized to have it serviced. Customer-supplied keyboards, PC components, systems, and parts remain your property. Please disclose known damage, prior repairs, liquid exposure, battery swelling, intermittent faults, missing parts, or other conditions that could affect safe inspection or service.
We will use reasonable care while an item is in our possession. We are not responsible for a pre-existing defect, hidden damage, ordinary component failure, incompatibility that could not reasonably be identified before disassembly, or a manufacturer defect not caused by our work. If inspection reveals a new issue or additional work, we will pause and request approval before incurring an unapproved charge.
Sound terms such as “thocky,” “creamy,” “clacky,” or “quiet” are subjective targets, not guarantees. Sound and feel depend on the case, plate, mounting style, switches, keycaps, desk surface, recording equipment, room, and user.
3. Prices, payment, tax, and order acceptance
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Applicable tax and shipping are displayed or calculated during checkout or in a custom quote. Payments are processed by Stripe; Switch Customs does not receive your full payment-card number.
Published service prices are starting labor prices. Unless a listing or written quote expressly includes them, parts, replacement components, soldering, complex repair, inbound shipping, return shipping, sourcing charges, and applicable tax are separate. Complete-keyboard budget tiers and any PC budget examples are planning ranges and are not guaranteed prices.
For parts sourced by Switch Customs, the approved parts cost and stated sourcing charge must be paid before we order those parts. A written quote states when labor, shipping, and any remaining balance are due. We do not order parts or begin service work until the applicable approval and payment requirement has been met.
A checkout confirmation means we received your order. An order is accepted when payment is successfully authorized and we confirm the item and order details. We may cancel and refund an order before shipment for an inventory error, material pricing error, suspected fraud, inability to fulfill, or an address or legal restriction.
Promotions may have stated eligibility, timing, redemption, combination, and inventory limits. A promotion applies only when the checkout or written offer accepts it; expired, invalid, or ineligible codes do not reduce the order price.
Optional support payments are tips to a for-profit business. They do not purchase a product, are not charitable donations, and are not tax-deductible charitable contributions.
4. Custom builds, supplied-item services, and approvals
Submitting the website quote-request form does not place an order or create a payment obligation. We review whether you want a complete keyboard, a custom PC, assembly with supplied parts, tuning or modification of owned hardware, an upgrade, or diagnostic work before issuing a quote.
- Quote approval: An order begins only after you approve the written specifications, itemized price, estimated timing, shipping terms, and payment schedule and the required payment is received.
- Sourced parts: Prices and availability can change until payment. Approved parts and sourcing charges are paid before ordering. We will not make a material substitution without your written approval.
- Supplied items: Do not mail or deliver a keyboard, PC, or parts until we confirm the request and provide instructions. You are responsible for suitable packaging, a complete parts list, and inbound shipping unless the quote says otherwise.
- Customer-selected parts: You are responsible for reviewing the compatibility, layout, color, and features of parts you specifically require. We will flag compatibility issues we reasonably identify.
- Unexpected conditions: If inspection reveals missing, damaged, unsafe, incompatible, or defective parts, work may pause. Replacement parts or added labor require your approval before they are charged.
- Changes: Requested changes after approval may change the price and completion estimate. Additional work begins after you approve any revised quote.
- Final review: Photos or a sound sample may be provided when appropriate, but recordings cannot perfectly represent in-person sound or feel.

5. Website tools and acceptable use
RGB Studio is a visual planning tool. It does not directly control a keyboard, and actual effects depend on the selected hardware and manufacturer software. AI Help provides automated general information and may make mistakes; final prices, inventory, compatibility, completion dates, and policies are confirmed by Switch Customs.
Customer reviews are moderated before publication. By submitting a review and selecting the publication-consent checkbox, you confirm that the review reflects your honest experience and grant Switch Customs a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to display, format, reproduce, and share the submitted display name, rating, product, title, and review text for business and promotional purposes. You keep ownership of your review and may ask us to remove it. Order emails are used privately for verification and are not published with reviews.
We may decline or remove reviews containing spam, private information, impersonation, threats, harassment, unlawful content, conflicts of interest that are not disclosed, or content unrelated to a Switch Customs product or service. We do not promise to publish every submission, and a verified-purchase label is used only when we can reasonably match the private order information to our records.
You may not misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, submit malicious code, scrape it in a way that burdens the service, impersonate another person, use the site for unlawful activity, or enter payment-card details, passwords, or other highly sensitive information into AI Help or ordinary contact forms.
The Switch Customs name, logo, original site design, written content, and original media are owned by Switch Customs or used with permission. You may not copy or commercially exploit them without written permission. Third-party names and trademarks remain the property of their owners.
6. Returns and warranties
Returns, refunds, damaged-item claims, cancellations, and the 30-day workmanship warranty are governed by our Return, Refund & Warranty Policy.
Consumer rights are preserved. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or other right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Except for express promises in the product listing, approved quote, or Return, Refund & Warranty Policy, products and website tools are provided to the extent permitted by law without additional warranties. We do not guarantee a particular subjective sound, feel, RGB effect, compatibility not stated in writing, or uninterrupted website availability.
7. Responsibility and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Switch Customs is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the website or a product. For a claim relating to a specific order, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for that order, except where applicable law does not permit that limitation.
You are responsible for following product instructions and using reasonable care. Warranty coverage does not include accidental or liquid damage, misuse, unsupported customer modifications, normal wear, or other exclusions listed in the Return, Refund & Warranty Policy.
8. Governing law, changes, and severability
These Terms are governed by Pennsylvania law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and applicable federal law. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be handled in a court with lawful jurisdiction in or serving Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, unless consumer law requires another forum.
We may update these Terms for future use of the site or future orders. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Changes do not retroactively alter an order already accepted unless both sides agree or the law requires it. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
